Argentyne is manufactured with U.S. Pharmaceutical Grade PVP Iodine because in solution, the USP Grade PVP-I releases its free iodine at a uniform rate making a more uniform concentration and thereby minimizing iodine toxicity during treatment of sensitive fish eggs, compared to other brands. Other grades of lesser quality PVP-I will have more variability in the concentration of free iodine in solution. Argentyne is the only brand made with USP Grade PVP-I for fish egg disinfection use.
